"Every time I see an Alfa Romeo pass by, I raise my hat." – Henry Ford The 1950s were turbulent times for Alfa Romeo. To survive, they had to expand their model range, leading to the birth of the Alfa Romeo 1900. A true pioneer: the first Alfa with a unibody design where the body and chassis formed a single structure. It was a revolutionary step, supported by the modernization of the Portello factory, which was transformed for industrial-scale production. In terms of looks, the 1900 was a class act: its flowing lines and iconic triple Alfa grille gave it that unmistakable Italian flair. While the 1900 was produced in multiple body styles, the true top-tier model was reserved for deep-pocketed customers. For them, there was the exclusive Bicolore edition: a limited edition featuring a unique two-tone paint scheme and custom options. Talk about luxury... Now, the Cool Classic Club has sourced a stunning example, finished in the elegant colors Celeste Avio. 'Celeste' means "heavenly" (as the blue clearly suggests), and 'Avio' references aviation. This particular model is a rare find: not only does it have matching numbers, but it was also delivered in Modena and is Mille Miglia eligible. This bella macchina has even participated twice in the legendary rally! Ready for another go? Non c’è problema! Since 2019, this example has undergone a complete overhaul: the engine, brakes, and gearbox have been thoroughly revised, an electric fan added for improved cooling, and brand-new Borrani wheels fitted. These, if you ask us, only add to its charm. Interested in this true Bella Macchina?
