Auto Storica is pleased to announce the sale of this Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 Junior Osso di Sepia. This was the name given to the first generation of the Alfa Romeo Spider, the replacement for the Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider, due to its concave side, created by Pininfarina, which resembled the inner shell of this invertebrate Alfa Romeo planned a huge advertising campaign to promote its new Spider, with several media presentations, a week of tests for the specialized press on the roads of Lake Garda, and even the organization of a cruise from Genoa to Cannes that included the raffle of three units during the journey. However, the best publicity for the small Italian roadster came in 1967 from the hand of Dustin Hoffman, and his appearance in the award-winning The Graduate. The qualities of the new Italian two-seater with a front engine and rear wheel drive captivated fans. Even the entry-level version, the 1300 Junior, to which our unit corresponds, offered exceptional performance, in which its 89 hp of power moved its scant 1000 kilograms of weight with ease. Our unit is not only fully restored, but also has improved and more reliable mechanics, delivering an immediate response to the accelerator thanks to its larger Webber carburettors. Its interior, finished in a striking dark blue color, matching the hood and the cabin cover, contrasts perfectly with the silver of its body. And the spoked wheels are the icing on such an exclusive cake.
