The swinging sixties were only just beginning to gain momentum when Jaguar made a brilliant design statement at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, the impact of which would go beyond that of an iconic new sports car. With its sensually charged shapes and bold proportions – an ever-long hood, short rear end with side-opening tailgate – the new Jaguar E-Type defined a new era. The design of the Jaguar E-Type came from Malcolm Sayers – the special appeal lay in the combination of charisma and driving performance. This Jaguar was intended to replace the D-Type used in racing, but was modified for the road after its retirement from motorsport. In terms of performance, the E-Type competed with sports cars in the highest performance class, but these were twice as expensive. The Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupé offered here was delivered in New York in March 1970 in the wonderful and rare color Willow Green and black leather interior. It is matching numbers and color and perfectly serviced and maintained. We offer this beautiful, sporty and passionate to drive coupé, with Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, Swiss road registration and veteran approved, in a top maintained and beautiful collector condition.
