Supplied new to the UK in 1973, this example was a special order optioned in Marrone Dino Metallizzato 106.M.73 over Beige Connolly leather VM3218. At the time of order, this 246 GT further optioned with 7 ½ inch sand cast Campagnolo wheels and the resulting, 1 of just 10 UK supplied ‘flares’ examples. Ordered new through Dick Lovett, this would without doubt have stood out from the crowd! By 1990 the Dino was in need of a restoration and then owner Mr Rombouts-Howitt would embark on a ten-year restoration project with Grand Tourismo Services of Egham. Metalwork was carried out by Dino-specialists Prestige Metal Works, documented by a wealth of invoices on file, as well as for parts purchased from Maranello Concessionaires between 1990 and 2000. The restorative works further included an engine rebuild. The Dino was refinished in Giallo over Nero and fitted with ‘chairs’ at this time. DK Engineering sold this 246 GT to its current custodian in October 2005 with a mileage reading 33,100 miles. The car was placed into storage forming part of a significant collection at the time and has since covered just 200 miles since. Extracted from storage by DK in March 2025, this example has since been through our workshops and will receive a fresh and thorough service as a part of the sale. Presenting well, this Dino will afford the new custodian a fabulous example to improve further or return to its original colours. This 246 Dino is 1 of just 10 UK supplied factory ‘flares’ examples and is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately.
