The result was a luxurious V8 Convertible that would become one of the most successful passenger car series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz. Resplendent in rare English Red paired with a black hard top, soft top, and leather upholstery, this thoughtfully preserved R107 is a particularly desirable final-year example and unusual Canadian spec delivery. Like its Pagoda predecessor, the R107 cuts quite a striking, yet highly refined line, especially when paired with factory "bundt" style alloy wheels and a darker, contrasting hardtop. Both hard and soft tops are finished in black. The two-tone look complements the car nicely, and it looks particularly handsome in all configurations. Inside, thick, black beautifully mellowed leather retains a factory appearance, while the center console displays preserved wood veneer, ventilation controls, and correct Becker Mexico cassette deck. The trio of deeply hooded gauge pods is home to a central, metric speedometer. A recent 2024 inspection, service, and complete European bumper and headlight conversion ensures this collector grade SL is ready to provide a stylish open-air driving experience for its next owner as a strong contender for continued enjoyment and preservation.
